INITIAL FRANCHISE INFORMATION

Abrakadoodle Facts:
- Established:
Since the late 1990's, Mary Rogers
and Rosemarie Hartnett have been developing an idea for a wonderful art program
for children. In 2002, they began testing the idea and
curriculum by inviting children of various age groups to
classes. Through these "test" classes,
they refined and developed a model program known as "Abrakadoodle." In
spring of 2003, in cooperation with the McLean Project
for the Arts in McLean, Va., the first official Abrakadoodle
classes were offered. These classes proved to be so popular
that new classes were quickly added to accommodate the
swelling "waiting" lists and parent demand. The Abrakadoodle
program was at the same time expanding to additional
sites including private schools, day care centers, public
schools and other community locations.
- Began Franchising:
In May 2003, Abrakadoodle began putting together the elements
of a professionally run franchise operation. In February
2004, Abrakadoodle launched its franchise operation in
Reston, Virginia and has grown across the country offering programs in more than 30 states. In 2008 Abrakadoodle launched its International Development Program.
